Today I have been organizing photos and I went through my pictures from Christmas. Each year I have a party with all the members of my family. Since both of my parents have died, it is an effort to keep the family close and we really work at it. It is so important. I am one of five siblings. I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Siblings, to me, are some of the most incredible people in our lives. Just think about it. They are with you for most of your life. You all had the same parents, were raised in the same house, went to the same school and have gone through all of the trials and tribulations plus all of the joys and happiness with you in your life. You all have such a shared experience. For me, sisters are even more special. Because we are female, not only do we have all of the shared experiences listed above, but we also have the shared experience of being a girls and women. Now don't get me wrong, my sisters can really get to me. Who better knows the buttons to push than the people that you shared your room with for the first 18 years of your life. My sisters and I actually shared a room for many years. Yes, there were 3 of us in a tiny bedroom. And we survived it!
So when I came across a picutre of my sisters and me, it makes me feel blessed to have them in my life. Thank God for sisters. They are indeed a blessing.
