The 3/50 Project

I was talking to a friend today and she asked if I was familiar with the 3/50 Project. I was not. She urged me to take a look at their website: http://www.the350project.net/home.html
What I found is a simple plan of action for saving the brick & mortar stores that our nation is built on. I have always been a strong advocate of the independent local stores but I never thought about the problem the way this is framed. So I urge you to read this and try this. Apply it to your local scrapbooking store and 2 other businesses that you would miss if they were to close. Commit to spending at least $50.00 a month in local businesses, not national chains or the internet. Did you know that for every $100 spent locally, $68.00 returns to the community? I didn't.

And all it takes is you, just one person, to start the trend. I love this idea. I'm going to do it and I am going to spread the word. Won't you join me? Pick 3. Spend $50. Save your local economy.

A simple but powerful idea. Pass the word.
