CHA Report

Well, I've been back from CHA for about 10 days and I am just getting back to normal. Flying across country, setting up in wicked heat and humidity really took it's toll. But, the fact is that when all is said and done, we had a blast!

We made a great presentation to Crafters Home showing them all our cool new calendar products. We had lots of samples of different classes that we have created especially for the independent stores and they LOVED them! They are going to be featuring our 12 x 12 calendars come September.

Then we taught a class using our new 12 x 12 calendar and everyone had a blast. During the class that we sponsored with Cosmo Cricket, Lindsay Moore came in and was sort of like Santa giving away oodles of the new product introductions. All in attendance could not believe their good luck in taking a great class and getting freebies on top of it, they were in heaven. I've heard from many of the people who took the class and they all plan on teaching it in their stores. Very exciting.

Then we had 3 days of show with non stop customers. Eventhough the attendance was down from last year, everyone was loving what we were doing. The calendars were a BIG hit. Our new Cooking Collection was LOVED by all. And our new Scrap Pink products were just what people are looking for to use in Scrap Pink celebrations in their stores come September 26-27.

I still have some follow up work on the show, but all in all, I am very pleased with our trip to Orlando. And the best part of all is that we are well on our way to finishing our new products for Winter CHA just 5 months away. Wow! When will it end? Never, I hope! Thanks to Laura (our artist), Cathy (our designer extraordinare) and John (our "can do" guy) for all their help and their great attitudes!

Lazy Days of Summer

After CHA I always need a break. We work so hard getting ready for the show and then we spend 4 or 5 grueling days setting up and tearing down the show and in between set up and tear down we have a constant stream of store owners coming to the booth to see the new products. It is a very exciting time. I always love it.

Now, back to the idea that after the show I need a break. One of the things that I love to do is to invite my nieces Collin and Kadie to come down from Santa Barbara and spend a few days with us. They love to go to the Getty Museum, love looking at where the stars live, love going to the beach. But what I think they love best is when John cooks his famous hamburgers. Doesn't that scene just pretty much cover the saying "the lazy days of summer"? So they are coming down, we're going to make a big pitcher of iced tea and we are going to R-E-L-A-X! I can hardly wait.

If you are feeling lazy but you want to make a cute card to send to a friend, why not use our August sticker to create a very special card. You will have fun making it and your friend will love receiving it. Cards just perk up any day.
