2010...Here We Come!

Most New Year's mornings I start it off with a visit to the Rose Parade in Pasadena. We get up around 6:00 am, grab a quick bite and off we go. We park our car near the beginning of the parade and then we walk several miles to get a place to stand and watch. Along the walk we get to see all of the floats close up. They look beautiful and they smell beautiful. It makes you happy to be alive! The colors are astonishing...every color imaginable! One float had Gerber daisies in hot pink, orange and yellow. These colors reminded me of the colors we just picked for our new Beach/Water Fun sticker collection. For someone like me who LOVES color, the Rose Parade is heaven.

This year was really fun because Ohio was in the Rose Bowl and there must have been 50,000 people from Ohio. Many of them were sitting the the grandstands near where we were standing and they were all dressed in red. Wherever you looked, it was a sea of red. Even though I'm from the west coast and probably thought that I would cheer for Oregon, those people from Ohio really got to me. They were so darn happy to be in California, basking in the warm sun and watching the parade. Little did they know that later that afternoon they would be even happier as they watched their great football team and phenomenal quarterback make them proud!

I wonder if there were any scrapbookers in the crowd? I bet there were and I bet that they are going to have one heck of a scrapbook showing their trip to California featuring sun, sunsets, Rose Parade and Rose Bowl. Doesn't get much better than that Buckeyes! Congrats!
